Minimum Wage Increase Will Be Ballot Question #2

Today, the state released a statement which certified the minimum wage increase as ballot Question #2. This question will appear on the November 5, 2013 ballot and will give New Jersey voters the power to amend the State Constitution to raise the minimum wage from $7.25 to $8.25 per hour and require an annual cost of living adjustment.

We ask that all of you share this information with you membership, family, friends, and co-workers. Encourage them to vote “Yes” on Ballot Question #2.

Approval of the minimum wage ballot question would provide New Jersey’s hard-working families with a well-deserved raise and open the door to future economic advancement. Raising the minimum wage would also universally benefit our state by increasing consumer spending, boosting economic growth, reducing reliance on public assistance programs, and lifting overall wage scales.

We look forward to working with you over the coming months to ensure approval of this vital ballot question.
