Support $15 Minimum Wage Bill in Assembly Labor Committee

With the $15 minimum wage bill (S-15) released from the Senate Labor Committee, our next step is to secure the Assembly Labor Committee’s approval of A-15 – the companion legislation to the Senate minimum wage bill.

Working Families United for New Jersey, Inc. represents our state’s many diverse communities, who understand the benefit of an increased minimum wage to working families, businesses, and the state economy.

We need our legislators to hear from us directly, and respectfully ask you to join at the upcoming committee hearing to offer testimony and show your support. Details are as follows:

Date:

Thursday, May 19, 2016

Time:

10:00 a.m.

Place:

Assembly Labor Committee
Statehouse Annex
Trenton, NJ
Committee Room 15

Our coalition thanks the bill’s primary sponsors, Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto, Assemblyman John Wisniewski and Assemblyman Gary Schaer. We also thank Assembly Labor Committee Chair Joseph Egan for posting the bill in his committee. Both S-15 and A-15 seek to gradually increase New Jersey’s minimum wage to $15 per hour.

We look forward to seeing you on Thursday to advance this much needed bill to allow hard working New Jersey families to survive in our high-cost state and work toward a middle class standard of living.
