Educating our state about the benefits of an earned sick leave law will be an overarching goal of our coalition moving forward. It is imperative that we communicate that this law can go a long way to improving the health of our communities and to ensuring workers no longer have to lose a day’s pay just because they get sick. Such a policy has also been widely cited by businesses as being cost neutral as well as an employee morale booster.

This policy is a must for our state and for the 1.2 million New Jersey workers who currently lack this simple workplace benefit. Therefore, we look forward to holding the official kickoff of our statewide earned sick leave campaign next month. We urge all of our community partners to join us for this important event. Not only will this be an opportunity to join together as a coalition, but we will also have a valuable opportunity to hear and learn from legislative leadership and the prime sponsors of earned sick leave in the Senate and Assembly.

Please be sure to mark your calendars for this kickoff event, so that we can once again join together and educate our state’s families on an issue that will allow us to once again make history in New Jersey.
