Support $15 Minimum Wage Bill in Senate Labor Committee

Working Families United for New Jersey, Inc. encourages our community partners to join and testify in support of the $15 minimum wage bill (S-15) on Monday, May 16, 2016 in the Senate Labor Committee. Whether you testify or not, your presence at this hearing will help to demonstrate the strong support and critical need for raising the minimum wage in our state.

According to the current legislative calendar, committee hearing details are as follows:

Date:

Monday, May 16, 2016

Time:

10:00 a.m.

Place:

Statehouse Annex
Trenton, NJ
Committee Room 6

On behalf of our state’s working families, our coalition thanks the prime sponsors of the Senate bill, Senate President Stephen Sweeney and Senator Joseph Vitale. We urge all legislators to join the sponsors in supporting this bill.

Too many New Jersey families are struggling to make ends meet despite working two and three jobs, and that number continues to grow. We recognize the leadership of those in the legislature who are working to provide relief to families that play by the rules, and deserve a fair shot at achieving a middle class standard of living.

We look forward to seeing you on Monday to advance a bill that will build on our past progress to strengthen consumers, families, businesses, and communities.
